The SR5FMDX is a five-string Soundgear seriessolid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2022. It was made in Indonesia as part of the mid-tier Premium line.
The SR5FMDX features a flamed maple and bubinga top and back on a double-cutaway ash body bolted to a titanium reinforced panga panga and purpleheart Atlas neck with a 24-fret birdseye maple fingerboard with green oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, Mono-rail bridges with 19mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The SR4FMDX is a four string version. The SR5FMDX2 is a similar model with a flamed maple and ash top. The SR5CMDXis a related model with a curly maple, purpleheart and walnut top and back.
