This Aria SWB-04 bass is the absolute top of the line from the Aria Custom Shop. These are rare, and hand built. It’s solid mahogany with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with a full 41 1/3 inch scale length. It has both an electromagnetic pickup at the neck and a split Fishman transducer mounted under each foot of the adjustable bridge. These are controlled from an onboard 9 volt powered pre-amp. The magnetic pickup has pole pieces with individually adjustable gain at the pre, the transducer controls allow sensitivity adjustment at the bass and treble side of the bridge. In addition to overall volume and tone there is a mixing pot to allow balancing between the magnetic pickup with the transducer. The instrument can be tailored to your touch. Another feature is the ADJUSTABLE TRUSS ROD which allows the adjustment of relief to various string tensions. This is a remarkable instrument and adaptable to any form of music.

SWB series in Aria`s electric bass catalog is made for players who like to break the conventions and rock it in their own style. The models featured in this series are all stand up basses and the SWB-04 has a sort of violin bass theme going on. It comes with a fully hollow violin-shaped body with mahogany back and sides and maple sound board on the top. This unusual bass is taking a modern spin on the classical cello concept and it`s use as a bass instrument within an orchestra. On the top of the body, there is a classical wooden bridge with strings being anchored at the bottom of the body. Maple neck on SWB-04 is topped with a fretless fingerboard made of rosewood.
