Fender FSR Traditional 70s Precision Bass Overview

Recapture the rockin' experience of the 70s with Fender's MIM Traditional 70s Precision Bass RW, Arctic White. Designed with a selection of vintage style appointments, the MIM P-Bass takes you back to the stunning tones of rock 'n' roll. Even its single split-coil pickup has been designed to the original's specs, giving you an incredible performance suitable for a variety of genres.

Its alder body is also a traditional aspect for Fender - using it on their guitars since the 50s for its balanced response. You even have access to the classic ''U'' neck profile. Everything about the Traditional Precision Bass is designed for an incredibly comfortable playing feel, but it still offers that classic rock 'n' roll spirit of the 70s.

An Incredibly Comfortable Neck

The U-shaped neck profile. This type of profile was ideal for small hands since it lets your thumb naturally rest closer to the edge of the neck, providing you with better reach across the fingerboard.

The fingerboard is also equipped with vintage-style frets, a slightly modern take on the original's vintage tall frets. Vintage tall frets were perfect if you favoured finger work and bends since it took less effort to press down the string and hear the note. The vintage-style frets enhances this design with modern comfort.

A Tone Inspired by the 70s

The addition of Fender's vintage-style split-coil pickup, gives the MIM Traditional Bass its truly vintage tone. This pickup injects your performance with a beautifully warm sound and plenty of midrange thump - ideal for create rich textures and deep soundscapes.

The vintage-style pickup features a classic alnico magnet, which are known for their low-end flavour and midrange scoop. The split-coil is also designed with a reverse wind polarity, removing any unwanted hum to keep your tone crisp and clean. No matter what, these versatile pickups will suit anything you throw at it.

Classic Bone Nut

The additional bone nut not only adds to the Fender Precision Bass’ stunning looks, it also enhances the tone's natural resonance and sustain. Bone is the perfect material for guitar nuts, featuring a long life and helping the overall tone remain balanced. This type of nut naturally self-lubricates, helping the guitar stay in tune for longer when compared to modern materials.

The History of the Precision Bass

Debuted in late 1951, the Precision Bass guitar was not only Fender's first bass guitar, it was the world's first bass guitar and a new kind of instrument. The Precision Bass (often shortened to P-Bass), has spent well over half a century at the very heart of music everywhere.

With its two-horned solid body and fretted neck, the Precision Bass profoundly revolutionised music. Reigning ever since as a must-have instrument, this elegantly simple and enormously powerful instrument is the worldwide standard for bass tonality, performance, reliability, and overall excellence.
