  14. For several years the new generation of Neodymium speakers have been adopted by bass players across the globe. However there has always been a compromise in the tone that these cabinets produce, with the combination of lightweight drivers and often, lightweight cabinets, have meant a lightweight sounding cabinet! Bergantino use the same 19mm void free AAAAA grade Baltic birch cabinet that are used in all the other Bergantino cabinets and Bergantino's exclusive Neodymium drivers. This, combined with superior design, has created a range of "Neo" cabs that come as close to the sound of traditional high grade ceramic drivers as has been achieved before. Based on the hugely successful AE112 this vertically oriented cabinet is designed as a one cab solution for those looking for a big sound with low weight. With sparkling high end details, plenty of mid-range energy and deep low end the AE212 will deliver a huge sound in a relatively compact and easy to move cabinet. Utilising Bergantino own custom Neodymium drivers you can expect to achieve effortless and controlled sound at any volume. We suggest using a minimum of a 500w at 4ohm amp but this cab will thrive on amps of up to 1000w. Stack a second cab on top for a really massive sound where appropriate.

Bergantino AE112 - £549

Based on the ever popular HT112ER, this new AE (Advanced Engineering) series of speakers contain Jim Bergantino's exclusive new Neodymium 12" speakers. The cabinet has a very full yet tight low end with masses of bass extension. The mids are clear and it features a very open but slightly more aggressive high-mid tone when compared to the ultra smooth HT112ER, with crystal clear high end.  A warmer cab than the AE210. Great on its own, amazing as a pair!

Bergantino AE210 - £679

A new take on the superb HS210, this cabinet has a surprisingly big sound which is in part due to the new large rear porting. Like all Bergantino cabinets the sound is well balanced and clear across the frequency range. The highs are clear and transparent but never course, the mids are present and punchy but not overpowering, and the the lows are full but not boomy and sound deeper than the HS210. A punchier cab than the AE112. A loud cabinet on its own, it is very loud with another AE210 and works well with an AE112.

Greetings from Somerset, Mark and thank you for your hospitality on the 13th. I'm really enjoying working with this amp: old school sound in a compact and classy package. I didn't think it was possible.


I'll be looking at other TC Electronics and Bergantino products and I'll certainly be back to Bass Direct.


For anyone looking to buy new bass gear I recommend Mark very highly indeed. Everything he stocks is the real professional deal and he knows his way around it.

Having just spent a second night on headphones & ipod prac, the RH450 is awesome, its transparency and similarity both on Speakers & Phones, it is a bit warmer & heavier on phones, but still close.


Having the one unit to get 'the sound' was one of the priorities, in the change. And I can play late at night at decent volume, if needed, without disturbing my neighbours in the block!!


Actually now the RS210's have their very smart covers, 1 will go into the cupboard and hopefully I will be allowed to keep one out, the1/2 rig is not too intrusive in the Study / office!, certainly much more acceptable than the HLFB410 & SVT3!

Hi Mark,

Got the Mo-Mark & Berg rig home and it is just awesome. Easily the best rig I've ever owned or played through. As I kept saying to you yesterday I just can't get over the detail and depth of the sound. No muddiness or boominess, just pure guitar tone. Glad you liked my Ibanez SR5005e, which sounds fab through the new system. And the light weight of all the components, too. My back loves me again!

I arrived in store with rather old-school ideas and left a) with a massive grin on my face b) with all my notions of bass sound readjusted and c) with a rig at the cutting edge of the 21st Century!

Your product knowledge and attention to detail is second to none, my friend, and you kind of "knew" what I needed when I didn't know myself. I had the sound in my head and you sorted it for me! Just waiting on the rack and MB rack ears then we're good to gig! I can feel my playing improving already.

You can rest assured I will return when I need anything bass-related. I've recommended you to a pro bassist of my acquaintance who's after a new touring rig. Just turn him away from the "dark-side" and he'll be forever grateful, I'm sure (as will his road crew).

BTW: Just noticed Cliff Hugo is a Mark Bass endorsee -we played a UK show with Carl Verheyen & Cliff a couple of years back; what a great player and thoroughly nice guy (with whom we've kept in touch)!
